Team TRE takes on Mammoth MX

 — Well, this week was the big race in Mammoth. Since 1968, the Mammoth MX race has been one of the biggest MX races and best visual setting in the nation. Well, Team TRE came to the Mountains to make a mark and a mark they made.

Tyler Weyman, #120, two weeks post clavicle fracture decided this would be a perfect place to test if all the work dad did on it worked. Well it did, being off the bike since the injury, mondays practice would be the big test. Well, he came off the track with a big smile and said "no pain, lets race", and race he did. With an 11th (washed out in a turn after running 5th on the last lap) and 8th second moto for a 9th OVERALL and on the podium. Wed he got a 7th and then was involved in a big crash on the first turn and once he got his bike started he was dead last and a half a track behind. He worked his way back to 16th and unfortunately got 11th for the day, by 1 point, and a 11th for the weekend, again, by one point. Oh well, a great week for the first time there and we came home with a Mammoth BEAR!

Colton Aeck, #26, came to Mammoth with only three weeks of training under his belt after being released from his fractured arm and entered a tough class. 12-13 85cc class and Supermini class on his 85cc. Being 12 he was in a tough class, but he held his own and rode like a true champ. His big accomplishments were making the MAIN in the Supermini class. A class filled with supermini bikes with riders up to 4 years his senior. Our 12 year old, on a 85cc bike, kicked but and made the Main and placed well! In the 85cc class his first day was a little rough but got an 8th place on the first race and was looking good to get a bear for the second day when he was involved in a bad crash off the start. The bikes tangled and flipped and when the dust settled three riders were hurt. One got carried off and the other two, Colton being one of them, limped back. Colton was shaken up and his foot was hurting. His day was over but not before he raced a strong field hard.

Chris Carillo, #441, our big "little man". Entered the 85cc 14-16 class and Supermini class. At 14 this kid ripped against a very strong field of factory kids. When the first day ended Chris was on the podium for both classes. He got a 5th in the 85 class and 9th in the super mini as a 14 year old!!! Wed brought him a little bad luck with a few spills but he still netted a 10th overall in the Supermini class!

Both Tyler and Chris came home with bears and got to stand on the podium but Colton road hard in the first year of his new class and the way he looked will be collecting bears next year.

With the nice mechanic shirts from LR Appearl and our placement on Pit row, the team looked like a factory team, except the DVS haircut for Colton :-) just kidding Colton. We looked, raced and acted like a true professional team. Thank you for all our sponsors in helping us reach our dreams. Pictures will be attached.

(Remember a bowl of soup with a haircut? Colton got a free pair of shoes!)
